"Have You Ever Tried Stripping?" - Interview with "Fallen Angel" Author Alisa Anderson

I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to ask Author Alisa Anderson a few questions about her newest series "Fallen Angel". Thank you Alisa for taking time to chat with me!

Have you ever struggled to make it in NYC?

The short answer would be no.  The long answer is that I contemplated moving to NYC and decided that the pace was a bit quicker than what I want.  It's nice to imagine but reality is something totally different.

What was your inspiration for Jess?
LOL!  That’s an easy one.  Fallen Angel is the semiautobiographical tale of my partner in crime, Cameron Skye and her life and struggles to make it and survive and overcome. Obviously some details were changed protect the innocent..and guilty. *winks*

Have you ever tried stripping? Even in a private setting?
Ummmm…that would be a no.  LOL  Ask Cameron *grins*

What's your favorite mafia movie?
A tie between Goodfellows and True Romance.

Can you give us any hints on what we can look forward to in Jess and Nikolas' story?
Let’s see…more sex, more drugs, more complications, more insanely stupid choices, more chaos.  More of the real nitty gritty deal. Oh yes, we will go there =)

Authors’ Bios:

Alisa Anderson
well...alisa did stuff and is still doing stuff. only now she has two boys crazy enuff to want her as their mommy. hey, at least she tried to warn them, so her job is done. she doesn’t like to capitalize, partially because she likes how lower case letters look visually, but mostly out of laziness. please don't judge. it could be you. and she would say, hey. you're alright, buddy. you're ok in my book. now c'mere for a hug. the hug might be pushing it. air kiss? you are strangers, after all, with only a mutual love of poor grammar. She lives for a world full of controllable anatomically correct, android men programmed to meet her specific feminine needs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge with a big waggle of the eyebrows). who look like the rock. and ian somerhalder. and idris elba. and that's it she promises. variety. gotta have variety, right?
but alas...apparently that exists only in johanna lindsey's genius mind. so until then, she enjoys her incredibly warped sense of humor. she reads tons of erotica and romantic, drippy goo that makes her heart go pitter patter. then she thought, hey. what, she said to herself. (softly, of course, so no one finds out she is indeed, 2 nuts short of a fruitcake) maybe you should write this stuff too. maybe someone will like it and maybe buy it. so she said, huh, you think? then she said, well...yeah, i wouldn't have suggested it...(inserts sarcastic tone) and then she was like lose the attitude, ok? then she was all, would you just shut up and write, already? sheesh! and she did. :)

Cameron Skye
When Cameron is not in the lab working toward a Ph.D., in Neuropsychopharmacology, which in laymen's terms is basically finding the effects drugs have on mood and behavior, she is writing stories, crating vivid, intense characters you will never forget. She believes while life can take you down every path but the right one, eventually everyone will find their happily ever after.

Does your mother know what you’re reading?

A Dark, Tasty Appetizer - “Fallen Angel” by Alisa Anderson and Cameron Skye #Review

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
4
This is just the beginning of what promises to be a tawdry tale involving the darkest aspects of human nature. Warning: Violence and implied incest.
Fantasy World
3
NYC underbelly. Feels real enough, and I would love even more details.
Tingle
4
Very hot! This is down and dirty with some dubious consent.
Characters
4
Lost souls mired in sex and drugs. You know they are going to make more wrong choices than right ones.
Story
4
Serialized novel so this is just the beginning. Plenty to entice me into one clicking the next installments. It would be even better if there were more flashbacks to what drove Jess to move to NYC and her descent into drugs, rock stars, and stripping.

Summary
Fallen Angel” by Alisa Anderson and Cameron Skye is a dark, tasty appetizer with echoes of “The Sopranos” only told from the stripper's point of view. These are damaged people in a harsh world whose relationships are as screwed up as they are. I have the feeling their efforts at love are doomed, but I'm still holding out hope they manage to find one good thing in their lives. Either way I want to read the voyage in all of its glorious, destructive detail.

This is a $.99 bon bon. It's like picking up a Lindt truffle on your way out of the store. There's just enough to wake up your taste buds, or in this case, other parts due South.

Great Menage Beach Read - "Stuck In Between" (Bound by Your Love #1) by Blakely Bennett

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
3
Fun and trashy story with some grammatical issues. Escapist angst in which we're told more about the characters than shown. Good beach read.
Fantasy World
3
It's a never ending party with incestuous relationships between friends.
Tingle
3
The sex is hot; especially the menage action.
Characters
3
Hard to keep straight between real names and nicknames. Spend more time reacting than acting.
Story
3
Choppy story and dialogue. Ending doesn't really feel conclusive, but definitely not a cliffhanger.

Summary
Stuck In Between” by Blakely Bennett is more of a new adult novel despite the characters' given ages. It reminds me of elements of both “Gossip Girl” and “Revenge” only set in Florida. They spend most of their time sleeping with each other then calling their friends to report about it. Alcoholism is rampant as are trust funds. The heroine, Jacqs is admirable in that she stands up for herself. Bond and Red are attractive heroes, although I'm still not quite certain I understand what anyone sees in Bond. He's an unapologetic man whore unwilling to mend his ways even for the woman he claims to love.

It's a bit overpriced at $4.99 for 371 pages, but worth the time to read if you can find it for sale. Amazon is offering it free to borrow for Prime members.

An Excerpt from TouchStone for ever, Chapter 13...

With dexterous hands, he leans back and unbuttons my dress; it falls from my arms and flutters to the carpet like falling leaves. I’m standing without shoes; flimsy underwear is all that lies between my modesty and my nakedness.
He lowers my hands from his chest to his hips and them places them on his belt, inviting me to relieve him of his trousers, all the time kissing and nibbling the skin beneath my ear.
I quickly unfasten the belt and release the buttons so the zipper comes down almost of its own accord. With my eyes closed I slide my hand down his jeans, over muscle and through pubic hair until I have him wrapped in one hand. He groans into my neck and the heat of his desire scorches my skin, urging me to tighten my grip and feel the pulse of a rigid cock rippling in my hand. He’s dipping and shuddering, making the kind of noises that have me clenching and so aroused I can barely stand.
With steaming breath he whispers, “Show me how to love you, Beth.”
With my free hand I move his hand to my left shoulder and ease down my bra strap. He follows through, left and right and leans into me to unclip it before it falls and dangles off my right wrist. I begin to pull out my hand.
“Leave it where it is,” he says with a smile and then proceeds to snap the strap and toss it across the room. With it discarded, I am captured in candlelight. This is the first time he has seen my naked breasts. Before, there was only the glow of moonlight. Now there are shadows and the flickering light cast by 20 candles. I feel exposed and lower my head, embarrassed by his stare.
“Look at me!”
I raise my eyes to meet his. “Don’t ever be shy about who you are. You are beauty personified. I have lived many lifetimes, travelled through space and time; read a thousand books and recited a hundred poems, but even I cannot find the words to describe you.” He rests his palms on my breasts and strokes my nipples with the pad of his thumbs, making my body tremble.
“See how you respond? Your body recognises the touch of these hands and no other. These hands are the key to untold pleasures.”
I throw my head back as I feel his erection growing, forcing its way through material, seeking freedom from containment. With both hands I lower his jeans and boxers, allowing it to spring free. When I see it, I gasp. It’s bigger than I remembered, standing long and thick without support. I’m aroused further by its magnificence.
“Give me your hand.”
I lift up my right hand. Enfolding it with his own, he places it around the skin coated rod of iron and begins to move my fingers and thumb up and down the length of it; rolling my thumb back and forth on the upward motion.
With a throaty voice he urges me to give him my other hand. I do.
He places it between my legs, his hand over mine, his firm fingers sliding between my own until they are wet and soaked. With our hands moving rhythmically he begins to fuck my mouth with his tongue. He moans into me, stimulating me even more, and I gasp, caught up in a sexual frenzy that has us both teetering on the edge of an orgasmic high."

About Sydney Jamesson - in her own words
There are those moments in life when a person you respect says something to you that strikes a chord, we’ve all had them … that moment came one Parents’ Evening when I was 16. An inspirational teacher said; “Your daughter should consider a career in Journalism or as a writer, she has a vivid imagination and a flair for creative writing …” As a wide-eyed teenager, those words were music to my ears. How prophetic was it that I went on to do just that …
I have worked in Insurance, Fashion and in advertising as a Copywriter and Commercial Journalist and loved every minute of it; creative people are a lot of fun to be around. I swapped the day job for a more meaningful enterprise: having our daughter Jenna. Now 29, she’s a fiercely independent woman living the dream in Australia. She was a heavenly surprise that had me working freelance for four years, doing what I could between feeds, playgroups and afternoon lessons in preparation for starting school. It’s a ‘story’ we can all identify with, I’m sure.
I made a sideways move into teaching in 1997 and, six years later, became Head of English in a High School, making it my mission in life to introduce young people to a range of quality reading material. I try to foster a love of all things creative in my students and encourage them to find that creativity within themselves.
For as long as I can remember, I have lived with The Story of Us in my head. The fact that Elizabeth Parker is an English teacher should come as no surprise; as novelists we write, initially, about what we know … Yet, I should confess, she isn’t me but rather that young, sensitive and naïve woman we all were or still are. The difference being, she has been victimized and, because of it, remained hidden. But, unlike some characters who may have suffered at the hands of others, she is not damaged: wary yes, but not damaged. She still believes people are innately good and that is one of her many qualities. It is her propensity for compassion that allows her to invite Ayden Stone into her world when, on the face of it, he’s exactly what she doesn’t need.
So that’s me, furiously typing away until the early hours, unveiling the intricacies of a 21st century fairy-tale; creating an epic story that melds a heady mixture of romance suspense and a touch of the miraculous.

Art Painted with Words - "Still Life With Strings" by L.H. Cosway #Review

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
5
A beautiful story crafted with attention to every detail. Tragedy balanced with humor. Romance entwined with sex. It doesn't get any better than this.
Fantasy World
5
The streets of Dublin come alive especially during Jade's daydreams. They're absolutely stunning.
Tingle
5
The story starts off with a bang, then works the excitement slowly back up again. The sex scenes are explicit without being overdone.
Characters
5
Shane and Jade are very real. They're likeable without being perfect. The villain is deliciously evil, and the teenagers are perfectly cast.
Story
5
The romantic plot is predictable, but pleasurable. There are some amazing coincidences, but they are surrounded by such magic it's hard to find fault.

Summary
Still Life with Strings” by L.H. Cosway transcends categories such as romance or erotica and ventures into the territory of literature. It's art painted with words. This is where being an indie author pays off because L.H. Cosway is free to mix and match pieces of genres to create a unique vision. The heroine, Jade has a past as rough as the neighborhood in which she lives. Trying to envision a world where she can have a relationship with Shane is beyond her. Shane himself has recently experienced tragedy, and found even a life full of beautiful trappings wasn't enough to save him. Together they try to find the love and happiness which has so far escaped them.

This book is a damn steal at $2.99. Go buy it and enjoy the beautiful hours it adds to your life.

A Cupcake with a Side of Sex Toys - "Shiny!" by Amy Lane #Review

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
4
"Shiny!" is a feel-good, comedic story with some familiar personal challenges for the characters to overcome. This is a cupcake with a side of sex toys.
Fantasy World
4
Contemporary setting - feels a bit like a movie set. Fun to explore, nothing yanks you out of the story.
Tingle
3
Only a couple of sex scenes. Main focus on characters' feelings, and not explicit action detail.
Characters
4
Will is completely, socially clueless. Kenny and his Smart car emit a twink glow in a neon splash of lime green. They're fun, if a bit stereotypical.
Story
4
Clunky wedding story frame gets in the way. No plot surprises. Several soapbox moments regarding teaching/teachers/education.

Summary
When the world has you down, and things aren't going your way, Amy Lane is there for you. She takes you to a happy place with delightful characters full of entertaining quirks. Will and Kenny are having the worst days ever when they accidentally run into each other. They discover common interests, form a friendship, and then find themselves attracted to one another. However, acting on that attraction is easier said than done. Kenny is scarred from previous relationships, and Will is just figuring out he's gay.
