"Soul Seduction" Release Day Blast! - #giveaway @AuthorJDaniels - Tour by @BookieNookie

Soul Seduction
by Joy Daniels

Description:

An eternal Succubus

For centuries she has visited men in their beds, arousing their bodies to harvest nefesh, the life energy that the demon world depends upon. Any man will do, and she has never visited a man twice. Until now.

A mortal man

For weeks Sean Moran has dreamed of a beautiful woman who pleasures his body and ravishes his soul. Afraid that he is losing his mind, he follows a trail of mysteries and magic to an extraordinary conclusion.

One night

In the space between the worlds, Sean and the Succubus come together to experience passion in each other’s arms. But in their union a powerful secret is revealed—one that could endanger their very souls.
Forever.

Excerpt:

Hunger. It pulled at her, a soul-deep craving demanding to be filled. The succubus closed her eyes, tried to it block out, but the ache only intensified. She had gone too long without feeding. It was her duty to travel to the Earthly Plane, visit humans in their beds, and harvest the soul-sustaining nefesh that sustained the demon world. A duty she had performed for centuries without thought. Without question.

Until now.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to feed. Oh no. I want to so badly. To sense a human beneath her. To hear his cries of pleasure and sate herself on his essence. But not just any human. And that was the problem.

One night—was it only a month ago?—she’d sensed a presence stronger than any other, a soul-source so rich and deep that she flew to it like a bee to a flower. She hadn’t stopped to wonder why this soul called out to her as it did. She still could not answer that question.

Her kind fed during dream sex while the human slept. For the mortal it might be a pleasurable experience, transcendent even. For her it was a meal. Some were fast food, others steak—this man was like a gourmet meal laced with crack cocaine. Each night that she had gone to his bed, she'd told herself would be the last. Each time she'd been wrong.

Tonight she would break the spell. Resist feeding as long as she could. Then, when she was weak and desperate for sustenance, she would go to the nearest source. Convince herself to visit another man’s bed.

She was playing a dangerous game. Taking an enormous risk, and not only because she would be punished severely if the Master found out. No, if she went too long without the soul-sustaining nefesh, her Master’s punishments would be the least of her concerns.

Pain shot through her and the scene wavered. She had to go now, before feeding was no longer an option.

She opened her eyes to the rumble-strewn landscape of the Sitra Achra, the Other Side. This desolate plain was at the very edge of the demon realm, where the veil between the worlds was thinnest. Here, she could sense the human souls that pulsed with life on the Earthly Plane. And one soul in particular… To a hungry succubus, the human soulscape should sparkle, like a night sky filled with stars. Instead, the myriad souls faded in comparison to the one whose beacon seemed to glow just for her. Tugging, pleading, his spirit cried out to her. Implored her to join him.

She could no longer deny her need. With a curse and a cry, she descended out of the darkness and flew towards the light.

About the Author:

I write erotic romance because I like to expose my characters completely – strengths, flaws and scars. My debut novella, Revving Her Up, was the first story in the Full Throttle series, which focuses on the bad boys – and girls – of stock car racing. It was a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick, and has been called "one heck of a sexy ride" (Sizzling Hot Books), and "a hell of a sexy read" (Read-Love-Blog). I am currently working on the next two stories in the series.

My newest novel, Nashville Trio, is a steamy MMF ménage novel about a country singer and the two very different men in her life. It comes out May 5, 2014.

New Adult romance is my new favorite passion. I love writing stories with angst and heart, heart-melting kisses, and happy endings. I'm currently working on two New Adults series. The first, Running Scared , is about a Boston University student and the bodyguard hired to protect her from herself. It will be out in August 2014. The second series is a trilogy (Scarred, Burned, and Marked) about three friends bound together by a terrible tragedy and the scars it left behind.

I'm originally from New York City, (and still a loyal Yankees fan!), but since moving south, I've developed passions for NASCAR and country music. Both feature in my recent stories. In addition to writing (and reading) I enjoy yoga, bellydancing, and growing veggies in the Washington, D.C. area with my scientist husband and two curious kids. I'm active in the Washington Romance Writers, and the Maryland Romance Writers, and have been a member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA) since 2009.

Aliens: The New Clique in High School – “Fear Me Not” by Sara Wolf #giveaway #review #blogtour @RomanceAddict13 @Sara_Wolf1

The aliens crash-landed on Earth eleven years ago. And now, sixteen-year-old Victoria Hale feeds them. With her emotions.

Victoria is an EVE - an Emotion Vesicle Engraft - and one of few humans who are genetically capable of producing emotions for the Gutters to feed on. She's doing it for the money - her sister Alisa needs a good doctor, and fast. But what she didn't count on was being sent to the world's first desegregated high school for Gutters and humans. She didn't count on the paparazzi, the protestors, or the insane Gutter politics and government secrets. She didn't count on the crimson-eyed Gutter prince with an intriguing heart of cold iron, either.

She especially didn't count on murder.

But it's counting on her.

“I’m sorry,” Shadus’ voice says.

My eyes slide over – Shadus is standing right next to me, leaning on the bookshelf. I close my eyes and sigh.

“Don’t be. It’s me. Something’s wrong with me. I don’t know how to react like a normal person. Jeers, whispers, sneers, those are fine. I ignore them, punch something to make them hurt less. Compliments? I don’t know what to do with those.”

“You’re different. That’s not necessarily bad,” He offers. His long fingers skim over a row of books and he picks one out, flipping through the pages. “More literature in which the protagonist kisses his interest. Is it all your human writers are interested in? It hardly seems worthy enough to devote entire books to.”

“It’s not so bad,” I defend. “Kissing.”

“You speak from experience?” He asks.

“Second grade during the school play. Arnold Grady. We were backstage, behind the curtain. I thought it was a good time to go for it.”

“It was enjoyable, then?”

“Too wet.” I laugh, the memory burning like an old tattoo of embarrassment. “He was shorter than me - all the boys were. They’ve only started catching up this year, really.”

“I’m jealous.”

I raise an eyebrow. “What? Of the short boys?”

“Of your kiss. You speak of it fondly. Even if it was lacking technique, you still remember it. It must have been an important experience. I assume I will never know that sort of feeling - ”

I step into him. He jolts back, hitting the bookshelf. It shakes, and settles. I point up at him.

“Be thankful. You guys have the ceremony of flame. You don’t waste time with petty shit and he-likes-her-she-likes-him crap. Your future is arranged by your family. But us? Humans? We fish around blindly in a pool of seven billion people, hoping one of them isn’t too crazy or too incompatible with us, and we get so desperate that when we find someone we can stand for two minutes we decide to marry them for life, when in reality they’re all wrong for us. But we keep pretending they’re right, until we can’t anymore, and then we divorce them or break up and we get up and try again, and again, and it chips away at our tiny human hearts.”

He stares at me intently, as if I’m lecturing him and he’s trying his hardest to learn something from it. I snort.

“You’re lucky, Creeps. All you Gutters are lucky.”

“What you call ‘lucky’, I call ‘boring’,” Shadus says. “The human way of things may be more painful, but it sounds much more fun.”

I stride up to him, get in his face. His chest is rising and falling, his fists balled up. His ruby eyes stare down at me.

“Don’t do it,” He murmurs.

“Do what?”  I singsong.

He struggles with something inside himself, a pained look coming over his expression.

“Victoria -”

I press my head into the cradle where his neck meets his shoulder.

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
3.5
Fear Me Not” takes standard elements from a variety of different genres and mixes them up in a new and enjoyable way. Light/quick read for adults. WARNING: Cliffhanger ending
Fantasy World
3
Aliens made themselves human on the outside while their ship was getting ready to crash. Multitasking wow! Details of their bodies and genetic engineering capabilities are hard to understand. World feels not quite complete although revelations in later books may resolve questions.
Tingle
1
Young adult book where a kiss is a big deal. Very tame except for mention of off page alien sexual maturity ritual.
Characters
4
Awkward girl from poor family, brooding prince, popular girl with secret pain, hall monitor on steroids, random misfits all make an appearance. Stereotypes we enjoy revisiting in all their messed up glory.
Story
3
No new elements, but you never know what the author is going to throw into the recipe next. It's well put together and feels like a complete story although obviously this is only the first book in a series.

Summary
The aliens from “V” got stranded like the aliens from “District 8” then put on a reservation in Colorado by the government, American Indian style. They were forced to send their kids to a hybrid high school in the name of good publicity and race relations where the teenagers did what teenagers always do. They formed cliques, developed crushes, and learned how to dance. In between fights, classes, and protests at the gates, a young girl finds herself in the middle of multiple alien/human conspiracies which make her original, simple goals seem unreachable.

Recommended for fans of sci fi and young adult novels. Good pick for anyone who enjoyed “Harry Potter” or “The Host” too.

Life meets death. The end meets the beginning.

Eighteen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, forty-three weeks, and two days. Or so she thinks.

The boy she maybe-sort-of-definitely loved has dropped off the face of the planet after his girlfriend's death, leaving a Jack-shaped hole. Determined to be happy, Isis fills it in with lies and puts on a brave smile for her new life at Ohio State University.

But how long can that smile last with all of her friends gone?

How long can it last with the guilt of Sophia's death crushing her?

And how long can it really last when Will Cavanaugh attends the same school, taunting her?

Isis is good at pretending everything is okay. But not that good. The cracks begin to show.

Isis Blake is good at putting herself back together.

But Jack Hunter is better.

**This book contains language and sexual scenes, some of which may be unsuitable for younger readers.

**This is the third and final book in the LOVELY VICIOUS series.
