“That dress makes your tits look incredible.” Thomas curled his arm over my shoulders, taking one of my breasts, sheathed in midnight blue, in his hand. “Yeah, well, those trousers are too tight. I could see your cock twitching for me all night.” “Mmm,” he groaned, moving his arm and slipping both hands into his pockets. “It’s been twitching for you for thirty-six hours.” That was how long it had been. Sometimes we would only last an hour without each other. Sometimes we’d go at it all night, multiples times, until I was so exhausted I only just made it to work the next day. Overall	3.5	Angst fest. Riveting story. Jumps around a bit though and feels slightly incomplete. Since this is the first book in a new series, I expect more answers will come in following books.
Fantasy World	4	UK based scenery feels real. Some events are a little shaky, but overall a world you can sink into.
Tingle	4	Sex scenes are hot. Mostly vanilla, but they do play some fun games.
Characters	3	Skye is a great character. ADORE her husband Thomas. Cut Throat wants to be a great character, but doesn't have enough page time to do it.
Story	3	Ending is abrupt. Resolution is shortchanged. Reader doesn't have time to recover from last punch of angst. Needs more detail on why her family fell apart so completely and so fast.

Summary

The title is no lie. This chick has it all thrown at her, and somehow manages to keep going. Every time Skye's life seems to have even a scrap of hope, brace yourself because something truly horrible is going to happen. Readers who like angst will get a full serving. Those who are prone to depression should probably avoid "Survival” because even this hard hearted reviewer shed more than a few tears.

"Survival” by Rebecca Sherwin is worth the $2.99 cover price and is also available via Kindle Limited. I'll definitely be reading the next book in the series which promises Cut Throat's story. This time I'll have the Kleenex and a stiff drink ready before opening the first page!

Jace let his gaze slide over and drink in the view. Andre worked out regularly, keeping in shape for the police department, but it was more than the body that drew Jace’s eye. Jace had never been one to pin himself down with labels, but not until Andre had he ever seen a man as so damn fuckable. This guy had been his best friend for so long. He stood in the doorway, watching her for a long moment, his chest swelling with emotion. He could still remember what she’d looked like when he met her as a teenager. Jolanda cupped the short, wide glass in her hand. The smell of cheap whiskey sent her stomach into another medal-worthy, gymnastic tumble. She leveled her gaze, focusing on the Nordic-looking captain of the Sydney standing on the opposite side of the mahogany bar, ever mindful of her movements. If she shifted too fast she’d hurl the previous five shots, costing her the bet.  “Let me on your crew, Keller.”

“You haven’t won, yet.” His clenched teeth signaled confidence, but she could see cracks in his armor. He swayed to the right and his shot glass rattled as he misjudged the distance between his hand and the bar top.

If Keller broke down, she would snatch the opening.

A balloon payment was coming due on her father’s house. Had he been able to fish for crab as he had every winter for more than twenty years, the debt would be paid on time, but a quarter century of hard living had left his health as broken down as the mortgaged home.

Out of control diabetes and blood pressure had forced him into retirement.

Some might say he’d given his best years to that boat, but Jo liked to think he’d spent that time with her. Despite a nasty divorce, Lark had never let anger or frustration taint his relationship with his daughter. He fished in the winter while she was at her mother’s house in Fairbanks, so he could be a father during the summer when she lived with him.

Lifting the shot glass to her lips and gripping the edge of the bar with her free hand, she tipped her head back hoping the amber liquid would bypass her taste buds and glide down her throat.

Mission failed.

A cough pressed against her esophagus, but Jo pushed back with her iron will, refusing to open the door to the puking that would give Keller the victory.

The only way to win the spot on the boat was to out-drink its captain.

Fantasy World	5	So real it made me want to break out the parka and mittens.
Tingle	2	Not even a kiss until 74% then from kiss to condoms in a few pages. More tender/romantic than hot.
Characters	5	Jolanda is authentic as a girl tough enough to work a fishing boat. More heroines should be written like her! Keller is a real captain instead of a fantasy in a ruffled shirt. Love the rough and tumble crew; even the jerk, Pete.
Story	4	Adventurous, realistic, and gripping. Romance isn't the primary storyline but rather a savory side dish.

Summary

“The Ultimate Catch” is a great book for many reasons, but the best one is it's actually a romance between adults. The characters don't act like children, and immature actions aren't major plot points. Applause, stomping, hooting, and hollering for Constance Phillips! These people have grown up under harsh conditions, and they understand fully the risks associated with their actions. I love reading about a heroine who knew what she was getting into, and toughed it out even when the going got insane. The captain, Keller, is no less masculine for supporting Jolanda instead of rescuing her. Sometimes it's actually harder to watch someone else suffer through something than it is to step in yourself. Go Keller!

I kept picturing Ariel Tweto from “Flying Wild Alaska” as I read about Jolanda. Ariel is a beautiful, tiny girl who loads freight into airplanes for a living. Despite her diminutive stature, she is all kinds of tough. If you enjoy, “The Ultimate Catch”, then check out “Flying Wild Alaska” too. I look forward to enjoying more great adventures and heroines from Contstance Phillips.

Curing Zombies One Sex Act at a Time – “Strain” by @ACGormley #review @RiptideBooks

Overall	4.5	Post apocalyptic, sci-fi erotica at its best. Many books in this genre are less, but “Strain” is more. World/story are fully realized instead of looking like a bad porno set as so many others do.
Fantasy World	4	Slightly hard to swallow premise. Rewarding if you can accept idea of survival via viral infection by intercourse. Engaging world, great detail.
Tingle	5	M/m/m/m/m... action. Gangbang. Forced consent. VERY hot for those who like those sub-genres.
Characters	4	Rhys is a sympathetic underdog. Darius is a genetically engineered super Alpha. Supporting cast is great, especially Xolani. Villain stereotypical but motivations never revealed.
Story	5	Angst and love fight for supremacy. Neither happy ending nor survival are a forgone conclusion.

Summary

“Strain” by Amelia C. Gormley is “The Walking Dead” meets “Queer as Folk” and “Universal Soldier”. They all have sex repeatedly to save the world or at least the lives of a few, select young men. “Strain” reads like it started as a story which needed an excuse for a never ending gangbang, but along the way it found its feet. The story took on a life of its own and stepped out from behind the sex. Both benefited and the result is a fabulously entertaining book.

“Strain” is priced at $6.99 for 320 pages, and is well worth the cost. Don't start reading it at bedtime, and make sure to have a tissue handy. And lube. Lots and lots of lube.

About the Author
