Overall
4
Adrenaline abounds as expected in The Nightlife series. My favorite vampires are trying to clean up past mistakes, but only seem to get into more trouble.
Fantasy World
3
London gets shortchanged in this book. It feels real enough and there are no bungee cords, but I wanted more. In the first book New York itself was a character as was Paris in the third book. Only the barest glimpse of London is provided this time.
Tingle
5
M/F and M/F/F action. Gives new meaning to the phrase sexual healing. Whew!
Characters
4
The nature of Aaron and Michelle's relationship changes yet again. Urvashi is relegated mostly to the background. New interests are introduced, but mysteries about them remain.
Story
4
Feels too short, but not rushed. Good storyline and continues series well, but felt more like tapas than a full main course.

Summary
The Nightlife London” by Travis Luedke is a worthy member of the The Nightlife series, and continues the non-stop adventures full of sex and violence. There are echoes of “Taken” and “An American Werewolf in London” as Aaron and Michelle try to track down their Parisian attacker by visiting London strip clubs. Their own relationship is evolving since Michelle's death broke their previous bond, and the introduction of Urvashi adds confusion/irritation/lust. This fourth book in the series poses more questions than it answers, and feels more like a set up for the fifth book. It's good, but is perhaps not quite complete on its own.

Not recommended as a stand alone read. At the very least you'll need to read “The Nightlife Paris” to make sense of the characters, although reading the entire series is much preferable. The $4.99 price is a bit steep for 178 pages, but the rest of the books can be purchased for $7.99 by buying the Omnibus edition. Only $2 each for the other books is a good bargain.

The Nightlife San Antonio

Vampires, Mafia & Mayhem:
The Nightlife San Antonio is violent, sexy, and occasionally violently sexy.

All she wanted was to escape the police. All he wanted was to get laid. They both got more than they bargained for.

EMT on call, Adrian Faulkner resuscitates a beautiful woman after a Mexican mafia shootout. He can't explain why he picks her up in the hospital parking lot three days later and then ducks the San Antonio police and the Feds. Well, the hot sex might have something to do with it.

She needed to hide. With no memory of even her name, she didn't know from who. She only knew she wasn't safe.

Adrian soon learns she is much more than a damsel in distress, and he’s stuck with her. It isn't long before the past she cannot remember begins to catch up with them both…

THE NIGHTLIFE SAN ANTONIO is a non-stop thrill ride through the shadowy borderworld of mafia politics and vampires – and sex.

An Opera of a Novel - TouchStone for ever by Sydney Jamesson

SPOILER ALERT – I try to review without spoilers while still giving potential readers a good feel for the book. In this instance I don't think it's possible to discuss the story without giving away important plot information. My apologies, but readers beware of this review.

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
3.5
Angst duels with lust for the future of Beth and Ayden's romance. Are they destined to be together forever or can they not escape tragic destinies? Their characters make a very emotional journey together, and take you along for an operatic ride.
Fantasy World
3
It's almost too much. Every location is so over the top fabulous, every meal so special, every single thing is Super Sized. The author eventually reveals a good reason for that, but it can still be a little overwhelming.
Tingle
3
BDSM elements recede. The sex is still explosive, but more metaphysical than previous installments.
Characters
3
Beth remainds the focus. Ayden is not himself, and I missed reading about a character I enjoyed instead of one I didn't particularly like.
Story
4
Feels less like a conclusion to a trilogy and more like an adventure of its own. Lots of spirituality, fate, and introspection on the true nature of love.

Summary
TouchStone for ever” by Sydney Jamesson is a big departure from the storyline of the previous two The Story of Us books. “TouchStone for play” reminded me of Fifty Shades of Grey. “TouchStone for giving” reminded me of a James Patterson novel only with a lot more romance. I was simply not prepared for where “TouchStone for ever” took me. The closest I can come is a mixture of “Tale of the Body Thief” and “Meet Joe Black”. I often criticize books for being too stereotypical or using too many cliches, and I have to compliment Sydney Jamesson for doing something completely different. It was creative and I had no idea what was going to happen next. This was absolutely a stunning conclusion to The Story of Us Trilogy.

What didn't click for me was the strong, spiritual tone with multiple, unsubtle life lessons. I felt a little like I was reading a dirty version “Left Behind”. This is probably just me as I'm not a spiritual person at all, and most people will instead find it beautiful. I did have to put this
book down a number of times as I needed a few mental time outs to deal with it all. I mentioned opera right? Take heart as though the ending is a bit deus ex machina, it's a happy ending which wraps up many subplots and questions from the entire trilogy.

I recommend this book to everyone who has followed Beth and Ayden's story from day one. I have to say the second book, “TouchStone for giving” was my favorite of the three, but “TouchStone for ever” comes in a strong second.

"Have You Ever Tried Stripping?" - Interview with "Fallen Angel" Author Alisa Anderson

I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to ask Author Alisa Anderson a few questions about her newest series "Fallen Angel". Thank you Alisa for taking time to chat with me!

Have you ever struggled to make it in NYC?

The short answer would be no.  The long answer is that I contemplated moving to NYC and decided that the pace was a bit quicker than what I want.  It's nice to imagine but reality is something totally different.

What was your inspiration for Jess?
LOL!  That’s an easy one.  Fallen Angel is the semiautobiographical tale of my partner in crime, Cameron Skye and her life and struggles to make it and survive and overcome. Obviously some details were changed protect the innocent..and guilty. *winks*

Have you ever tried stripping? Even in a private setting?
Ummmm…that would be a no.  LOL  Ask Cameron *grins*

What's your favorite mafia movie?
A tie between Goodfellows and True Romance.

Can you give us any hints on what we can look forward to in Jess and Nikolas' story?
Let’s see…more sex, more drugs, more complications, more insanely stupid choices, more chaos.  More of the real nitty gritty deal. Oh yes, we will go there =)

Authors’ Bios:

Alisa Anderson
well...alisa did stuff and is still doing stuff. only now she has two boys crazy enuff to want her as their mommy. hey, at least she tried to warn them, so her job is done. she doesn’t like to capitalize, partially because she likes how lower case letters look visually, but mostly out of laziness. please don't judge. it could be you. and she would say, hey. you're alright, buddy. you're ok in my book. now c'mere for a hug. the hug might be pushing it. air kiss? you are strangers, after all, with only a mutual love of poor grammar. She lives for a world full of controllable anatomically correct, android men programmed to meet her specific feminine needs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge with a big waggle of the eyebrows). who look like the rock. and ian somerhalder. and idris elba. and that's it she promises. variety. gotta have variety, right?
but alas...apparently that exists only in johanna lindsey's genius mind. so until then, she enjoys her incredibly warped sense of humor. she reads tons of erotica and romantic, drippy goo that makes her heart go pitter patter. then she thought, hey. what, she said to herself. (softly, of course, so no one finds out she is indeed, 2 nuts short of a fruitcake) maybe you should write this stuff too. maybe someone will like it and maybe buy it. so she said, huh, you think? then she said, well...yeah, i wouldn't have suggested it...(inserts sarcastic tone) and then she was like lose the attitude, ok? then she was all, would you just shut up and write, already? sheesh! and she did. :)

Cameron Skye
When Cameron is not in the lab working toward a Ph.D., in Neuropsychopharmacology, which in laymen's terms is basically finding the effects drugs have on mood and behavior, she is writing stories, crating vivid, intense characters you will never forget. She believes while life can take you down every path but the right one, eventually everyone will find their happily ever after.

Does your mother know what you’re reading?

A Dark, Tasty Appetizer - “Fallen Angel” by Alisa Anderson and Cameron Skye #Review

Book Scorecard

**Stars**

Overall
4
This is just the beginning of what promises to be a tawdry tale involving the darkest aspects of human nature. Warning: Violence and implied incest.
Fantasy World
3
NYC underbelly. Feels real enough, and I would love even more details.
Tingle
4
Very hot! This is down and dirty with some dubious consent.
Characters
4
Lost souls mired in sex and drugs. You know they are going to make more wrong choices than right ones.
Story
4
Serialized novel so this is just the beginning. Plenty to entice me into one clicking the next installments. It would be even better if there were more flashbacks to what drove Jess to move to NYC and her descent into drugs, rock stars, and stripping.

Summary
Fallen Angel” by Alisa Anderson and Cameron Skye is a dark, tasty appetizer with echoes of “The Sopranos” only told from the stripper's point of view. These are damaged people in a harsh world whose relationships are as screwed up as they are. I have the feeling their efforts at love are doomed, but I'm still holding out hope they manage to find one good thing in their lives. Either way I want to read the voyage in all of its glorious, destructive detail.

This is a $.99 bon bon. It's like picking up a Lindt truffle on your way out of the store. There's just enough to wake up your taste buds, or in this case, other parts due South.
